It's a deformity

I just got a call from the vet and was told that the kitten's leg isn't broken after all - it is a deformity. He is supposed to have two bones in the leg - the radius and the ulna and he is missing the radius. Also he should have about 7 bones in the wrist area and he only has four of them. They forced the leg into position and put him in a splint and said he has a chance of being able to walk on that leg properly and use it. He has to wear the splint for about a week. So, amputation is still a possibility and I really hate to do that to him but they say he will do just fine if we have to go that route.
