Rainkissed leaves

I tried a new bath & body works scent today - rainkissed leaves. I like it. The best one I've tried in the past few months is enchanted orchid. I just love the bath & body stuff and always want to try the new scents out. I hope they don't get rid of these two anytime soon.

Mini family reunion

My niece Emma. One of the twins.
My nephew Colin - the other twin. These two love to have me take their picture while they are making funny faces and of course they like to see it right after it is taken. The goofier ones of Emma didn't turn out super well since she was practically on top of me and so I couldn't see what I was doing when I was taking her picture.

My niece Cora with my little cousin Rose.

Little Rose.

My niece Cora again. She likes to take goofy pictures too.

Little Rose and my nephews Ridge and Colin. This was the only picture where I was able to capture Ridge smiling.
I also got to see my parents, my brother and his wife, my cousin Janet, my cousin Brianna and my cousin Danielle. It rained a good bit of the day but the kids had fun playing together.

towel animals

With the exception of the first night and the last night, our cabin steward made us towel animals each night when he came in to turn down the bed and leave chocolates for us. We were disappointed when we didn't get a towel animal that last night. I thought they were pretty cool.

Scrapbook challenge

Here is my scrapbook challenge for the month of July. I chose a big picture so I could get it done quick and easy this month. I was going to put four squares at the bottom but I didn't get the first two spaced out right so I just wound up with three squares. This picture was taken right before we got on the boat - after we went thru security and all that fun stuff.

Cruising Glacier Bay

Just a few pictures of our scenic cruising thru Glacier Bay. This was a fun and relaxing day and really awesome to see in person. It was quite cold outside though. I think the high was about 40 that day. We actually got to hear and see the calving where the glacier breaks off into the water. It is pretty loud.

I've decided...

For my birthday this year I am going to celebrate it for the entire month of August. I will have a gift of some sort to open every day of the month. It may be just an envelope with $3 in it and a note to enjoy an ice cream at DQ. I have most all the gifts and have wrapped them and numbered them and I will draw a number each day and that is what I will get. Now I will just have to come up with something even better to do for next year since it will be a 'big' birthday.

One more whale shot

The spray

These pictures were taken by someone in the women of faith group on our cruise.

Picture I wish I had taken

Warning Sign

This was a sign in our bathroom on the cruise and it was posted at EVERY potty on the boat. We cruised with Women of Faith. Anita Renfroe was there and said that we should make sure we pay attention to the sign in the bathroom that says "Do not flush while seated". She went on to explain that it requires a lot of pressure to move water around on a boat and so if you flush while you are seated you will not initially be able to get up and when you do you will have one ginormous hiney hickey! I must admit I was a bit tempted to flush while seated just to see exactly what might happen. But, I thought since there IS quite a suction when you flush maybe I'd better not. I didn't think I really wanted a hiney hickey and I thought it might take some time to go away. And, it won't be super long before I have my yearly physical and........... well, can you imagine trying to explain that to the doctor???

A first

Wow! I cannot believe I am starting a blog. Never really thought I would do a blog myself but I have enjoyed reading other blogs and have been encouraged to start my own so here goes. Hopefully I will be able to figure all this out without too much trouble.

I just got back from Alaska a little over a week ago and so I will try to post some pictures here when I get a chance. It was an awesome trip and I would love to go back again.
